Menswear Garment Technologist | St Albans | up to £35k

We have a fantastic opportunity for a very successful and well-established company based in St Albans.

They are looking for a Menswear Garment Technologist To be part of a rapidly growing apparel department and ensure the objectives of the team are met at every level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with suppliers, designers and build strong working relationships with customer's own technical team.

  • Work with suppliers to manage all stages of product development from proto sample to production.

  • Own all approval processes of lab dips, trims, fabric, strike offs and measuring.

  • Create new specs for initial samples, standardized blocks and graded specs.

  • Maintain style workbook with technical drawings and provide comments to suppliers at all stages of PLM process.

  • Keep production critical path up to date.

  • Check construction and quality of garments, advising on options and solutions for quality assurance.

  • Work closely with compliance and QC team to ensure products meet required standards in production.

  • Interpret test reports and issuing wash care information.

  • Request AQL reports from your suppliers and manage the production seal process.

  • Overseas and UK Travel as required.

What the client is looking for:

  • At least 3-4 years recent experience as Menswear Garment Technologist

  • Knowledge of garment construction, fit, quality assurance, wash/care instructions and an understanding of patterns

  • Knowledge and experience of testing parameters and processes

  • Knowledge of critical path management

  • Must be willing to travel to China and other countries depending on current and potential new supplier base

  • Organized and efficient – ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to deadlines

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Packages and Adobe Illustrator

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
