How to prepare for interview

Interviews can be a nerve wrecking experience for some people but making sure you are fully prepared can boost your confidence.

Generally, interviewers are not trying to catch you out, they are just giving you the opportunity to showcase your skills and experience so make the most of it!

Here are our top interview tips:

Competency-based questions- it is so important to make sure you can prove your ability to fulfil the job spec for a role. We recommend that you prepare an example of a time you have fulfilled each of the essential parts of the job description.

The company- Interviewers will be expecting you to have done your research and have a good understanding of what the company does and the services/products they provide.

Honesty- is always the best policy. Whether you are discussing why you left a previous role, or how familiar you are with a certain skill, it is always best to be as honest as possible whilst remaining positive.

Two-way street- It is essential to remember that an interview is not entirely one sided. As the interviewer is getting to know you, you should also be using the interview to find out as much as you can about the role, company, the environment, and anything else you need to know to decide whether this is the right role for you.

We have a fantastic resource to support you through your entire recruitment process with in-depth information and top tips on how to write your CV, nail an interview and much more.
