Part Time Senior Bookkeeper | Watford | £25k

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Part Time Senior Bookkeeper to join a successful and well-established company based in Watford, within the sports industry.

 You will own the full Bookkeeping cycle for Purchase Ledger (purchases, payables, bank reconcil­iations, month‑end, Quarter end and YE. You will work alongside the Credit Controller/Sales Ledger coordinator, ensuring consistency in processes.

This is an office-based role.

Key responsibilities:

·         Banking & Cash Management

o    Reconcile multiple bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD) daily

o    Process credit card expenses monthly (multiple cards)

o    Process payments, receipts, and complex retailer remittance slips (including Amazon rebates/discounts)

·         Purchase Ledger & Payables

o    Enter supplier invoices, credit notes and expenses

o    Reconcile supplier statements

o    Produce bi‑monthly payment runs

o    Manage import purchases (USD/Euro) including Customs & Excise Duty/VAT

·         Sales Ledger & Receivables

o    Deal with complex remittance slips from large national retailers and match rebates/discounts including Amazon

·         VAT & Compliance

o    Prepare and submit VAT returns for 2 UK companies

o    Prepare and submit Netherlands VAT return, including EC Sales, Intrastat and OSS filings

o    External accountant does accruals,  depreciation schedules, and balance‑sheet reconciliations. Send quarterly info to external accountant for management accounts

·         Management Reporting

o    Produce quarterly and EOY info for external accountant

o    Produce quarterly Amazon profit margin report after freight/duty costs included

o    Generate ad‑hoc financial analyses and Excel‑based reports (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables)

What the employer is looking for:

·         Qualified Bookkeeper (ACCA/ACMA/ICB or equivalent) with sole‑charge bookkeeping experience

·         Multi-currency experience a must

·         Proficient in Sage Line 50 (essential) and advanced Microsoft Excel

·         Strong understanding of multi‑currency transactions and import duties

·         Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and professionalism

·         Confident communicator with a customer‑focused telephone manner
