We are recruiting for a Travel Consultant to work for our well established and successful client based in the heart of St Albans!
This company will provide you with the tools, support, and training in order for you to provide a world class customer service, and perform to the best of your ability!
You will be taking incoming calls from clients, managing customer expectations
Working under pressure, meeting deadlines to meet the client’s service level agreements
You will analyse problems and provide solutions
You will provide the best possible experience across multiple channels including, voice, email, web chat and social networks
Confirming web bookings, paying attention to passenger details, and organising travel documentation
Providing information about additional products or services, i.e. luggage, transfers, car hire etc.
Checking flight invoices discrepancies and time changes and communicating any changes to customers
Balance reminders, ensuring any agreed payment plans are adhered to
Liaising with our resort teams and assisting them where possible
Resolving any pre-departure queries that may arise
Handling holiday cancellations and Villa changes, sourcing suitable alternatives
Reviewing processes and proactively suggesting improvements
What the employer is looking for:
Minimum of 2 years’ recent work history in a customer focused environment, preferably in the travel and tourism industry and contact centre
Fun, enthusiastic person with a 'Yes I can’ attitude
Very strong negotiation skills
You will be able to communicate confidently, written & verbally, with customers
You will have a desire to demonstrate your own skills and have the hunger to continually develop!
You will be creative, imaginative and have a keen eye for the detail
You will be a keen team player willing to support your peers at every opportunity

37.5 hours a week
Working hours are usually around 4:30pm - 12:00am
Some weekend work required (one day of the weekend and then have a day off in the week)
You should be flexible during the training period (6 months), when you will be based in the client’s office in St. Albans.
