We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Technician to join a growing and profitable business, providing 1st and 2nd line technical support to external facilities, working with the wider Infrastructure and Development teams to design and implement enhancements through increased use of Cloud technology.
Support existing field users, data centre and wider network infrastructure through a combination of issue resolution and planned enhancements
Support efficient operations and service desk processes including incident troubleshooting, resolution and escalation
Develop/maintain processes and documentation for the technology team and user community
Training users and providing effective communication to the business
Interrogate and troubleshoot systems across hardware, network and software layers
Design and configure/implement quality technical solutions
Execute projects identified to simplify and enhance the current Infrastructure through future proofing solutions
Document requirements and work with the Infrastructure and Development teams to define and implement technical enhancement or new technical solutions
Create, execute and manage project schedules as necessary to meet evolving business needs/requirements
What the employer is looking for:
At least 4-5 years’ experience in a 1st or 2nd level infrastructure support role
Good knowledge of service desk processes and procedures
Extensive knowledge and experience covering IT Infrastructure Technology Hardware and Software layers (installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining)
You will have the technical capabilities necessary for engaging, influencing and enabling the companies technology to achieve company, project and team-related goals
Capable of working independently and as part of a wider team to identify issues
Collaborate effectively and propose/implement effective solutions
Confident and autonomous support of systems/applications/process/people
Strong teamwork skills in technical/non-technical context
Efficient prioritisation, execution, planning and time management
Understanding of networks and infrastructure management, server management and service desk management
