Junior Buyer| Luton | £24k - £28k


We are recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join a well-established fashion brand, based in their beautiful offices in Luton.

You will be working in a very busy, dynamic department, with a team who are passionate about what they do, supporting a buyer in the creation, ordering and organisation of product; no day will be the same! You will have enthusiasm for the world of colour, fashion and love creating order out of chaos! You will have many days where your feet don’t touch the ground. True grit and a sense of humour are essential!

Key responsibilities:


  • Collate core information from suppliers to facilitate orders

  • Create accurate make sheets, cost and margin sheets, ensuring the required margin is made

  • Negotiate with suppliers to agree appropriate costs

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all suppliers

  • Control, monitor and chase all outstanding development with suppliers as necessary

  • Manage the critical path during the buying process to ensure all deadlines are met and products are arriving on time

  • Identify gaps for new products to create product proposals for the season

  • Continuous reviewing of market and trend analysis through competitor awareness e.g. shopping, online, magazines etc. to aid product design

  • Assist in the development of new product lines as requested by the Managing Director

Account Management:

  • Host meetings with buyers, prepare the showroom and meeting packs

  • Negotiate with buyers to agree appropriate costs

  • Create vendor templates to send to buyers and chase the relevant order forms

  • Administrate orders on the wholesale system

  • Send samples to buyers when necessary

  • Provide distribution department with necessary information of what is being sold and when

  • Coordinate swing tickets between wholesale accounts and suppliers

  • Invoice all orders and send to wholesale accounts department

  • Update all annual documents on sales/stock figures

  • Work with the Shipping Manager to ensure delivery of stock is successful and on time
