Finance Assistant | St Albans | up to £30k
We’re recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a leading, global company in central St Albans.
The successful candidate will be supporting the Finance Director with various aspects of purchase ledger processing, sales ledger management and credit control.
This is a fantastic position for a candidate looking to further their career in accounting and the company will look to offer study support for AAT for example. Process sales ledger invoices on a monthly basis
Liaise with external parties to ensure all invoices are paid on a timely basis
Process daily transactional duties with an emphasis on data processing and reporting
Proactively liaise with suppliers to correct any issues
Review all invoices in preparation for payment – ensuring correct approval process are adhered to and accuracy of data
Update and maintain files and documentation in accordance with Company policy and accounting practises
Payment of staff expenses
Month End Support
Assist with the month end processes
Support the central functions of budget management
What the employer is looking for:
At least 2 years’ experience in undertaking sales and purchase ledger duties
An understanding of accounting processes and bookkeeping procedures
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Detail orientated, professional attitude, reliable
Able to build effective relationships with all levels of management
Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
Ability to demonstrate a professional, confident and 'can do’ attitude
