Would you like to work as a Secretary for a successful client focused company based in St Albans?

The role will be providing dedicated secretarial and administrative assistance to a partner within the commercial property team. You will be joining a friendly team, working in a lovely, modern office.

The company are looking for someone with a good secretarial background who is interested in the legal world. You will have an organised, efficient approach to work, demonstrating excellent to attention to detail and accuracy. Ideally, you will come from professional services, but we will consider a strong secretarial background in any discipline.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain Lawyers’ diaries and make appointments

  • Organise internal and external meetings including meeting room bookings

  • Manage outgoing post and emails

  • Maintaining internal and client files

  • Collate work received from the outsourcing typing company, including arranging necessary enclosures so that it is ready to send out

  • Liaison with the Accounts Department to ensure timely and accurate accounts administration

  • Upkeep of department’s IT, printing, photocopying and fax machines are reported 

  • Update and keep track of legal documents

  • Maintaining “chaser system” for clients on outstanding matters

What the employer is looking for:

  • Secretarial experience in a law firm is desirable but not essential

  • Fast and accurate keyboard skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Computer literacy in relevant software packages

  • Organisation skills including the ability to prioritise work

  • Ability to cope with pressure and maintain a calm manner

  • Smart appearance

  • Attention to detail

Hours: Mon- Fri 9am-5.15pm –  shorter working days may be considered for the right candidate but you must be available for the 5 days!
