Facilities Manager | St Albans | £35k-£40k


We are currently recruiting for an experienced Facilities Manager to join our well established and successful client based in the heart of St Albans.

Making decisions independently, as well as delegating to the team, you will really add value as your role will be pivotal to the smooth running of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilities management; including property checks, arranging repair work and maintenance

  • You will be the point of escalation for all Facilities issues

  • You’ll be the central point of contact for managing office contracts, suppliers, and services, all engineers and contractors attending the working environment

  • Ensuring relevant buildings insurance is in place

  • Reviewing service agreements and monitoring service levels

  • Monitoring spend as per annual budget, checking and authorising invoices

  • Initiate and maintain security procedures

  • Responsible for health and safety; updating policies, undertaking H&S induction for new starters, undertaking risk assessments, and recording reporting any accidents

  • Organising training and workstation assessments for fire wardens and first aiders

  • Management of facilities assistants and front of house staff, including work allocation, training and recruitment

  • Cover and support to Facilities Assistants when required

  • Holding sole responsibility for the company’s disaster recovery plan

What the employer is looking for:

  • Facilities management experience

  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications, or a desire to work towards this e.g. NEBOSH

  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with experience of managing and supervising people

  • A high level of organisational and communication skills

  • As well as working on your own initiative, you will also have management experience

  • Experience of managing and building supplier relationships, with a commitment to delivering the highest quality customer service

  • You will not only implement processes, but will also question them, with a constant desire to promote efficiency and positive change

Salary: £35k - £40k
