HR Advisor (Maternity Contract) | Watford | £25k-£32k


A busy and fast paced company within the technology industry are looking for an HR Advisor to cover maternity for 7 months within a supportive and close knit team.

The Company is a rapidly growing firm offering an extensive range of IT solutions and consultancy to businesses globally.

You will be the sole HR operative overseeing a total of 30 employees working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the HR function.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for recruiting and staffing

  • Create job specifications for new vacancies

  • Assist with shortlisting and the interviewing process

  • Liaise with Operations Manager to ensure staff requirements are met

  • Keep up to date with HR legal requirements

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of employees

  • Deal with employee grievances and complaints from customers and fellow staff members

  • Address sickness concerns with managers and employees

  • Create and amend employee contracts where necessary

  • Update staff with employee changes and concerns raised

  • Measuring employee satisfaction and identify areas that need attention and improvement

  • Organise social events when required

  • Note meeting minutes and distribute to necessary staff members

  • Organising employee training and document hours spent training

  • Liaise with payroll company in regards to employee wages on a monthly basis

  • Ensure employee records are kept up to date, including collecting required information from new starters

  • Liaise with Managers and approve staff holiday requests as required

Person Specific

  • You will ideally be qualified to CIPD level 3 or above

  • Experience of dealing with and documenting employee grievances

  • Experience of working with HR systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to work autonomously

  • Be discreet when required

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety within the workplace
