We’re recruiting for an experienced Fencing Contracts Manager to join a friendly and successful company based in St Albans.

Our client is looking for an experienced professional within the fencing industry, in return for an excellent remuneration package and great supportive working environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Examination of contract files to extract and arrange all relevant drawings, specifications and other relevant information required for installation

  • Ensuring that information provided to operations team from estimating is complete and accurate

  • Determine any potential risk items and raise with MD and Operations Director for assessment

  • Procure materials for contracts under your management

  • Regular and constructive liaison with both clients and installation teams

  • Assist with the generation of new business, clients, and enquiries

  • Organise all RAMS and O&M Manuals for contracts under your management

  • Resource required plant for contracts under your management

  • Ensure installation teams have correct training and competence for the installations, and organise any additional training required in good time

  • Make frequent site visits to ensure health and safety standards are being met and exceeded

  • Take accurate site measurements for the purposes of processing installers’ wage claims and the preparation of invoices and applications

  • Negotiate and raise interim / final payment applications

  • Ensure all work is inspected and any snagging works are carried out before the work is offered to the client for acceptance

In addition to the items listed above, a potential Senior Contracts Manager should be able to display the following attributes:

  • A proven record in managing others in an fencing environment

  • The ability to bring added value to the position – such as an existing client base or potential client base

  • Good knowledge of dispute resolution and avoidance in relation to working for main contractor in a sub-contractor capacity

What the employer is looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years’ fencing industry experience

  • Computer literate, especially Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Educated to GCSE A-C standard in Maths and English

  • Well-presented articulate and personable

  • Hold full UK driving license

  • Wide knowledge of commercial, security fencing, and high security fencing

  • Able to demonstrate an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated approach
