Part-time Finance Administrator | Harpenden | £22k-£24k pro rota

We are recruiting for a Finance Administrator to join a dynamic and expanding company based in Harpenden, where you will become a key player as they continue to grow.

Due to expansion, they’re seeking a strong administrator to support the Finance Manager. With over 250 clients to invoice monthly, the volume of detail and paperwork is growing, so the ability to work accurately will be essential, but equally important is the ability to think smart and work smart.

The role requires accuracy, attention to detail and good all-round administration knowledge. This role requires a team player who is able to coordinate the finance needs of the business, but a willingness to help others in the service department when required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Raising sales invoices – approximately 30-40 per day

  • Inputting into sales and purchase ledgers from source documents

  • Matching and reconciling invoices to statements and purchase orders to invoices

  • Inputting accounting data into the accounting system, with speed and accuracy

  • Proactive credit control to minimise overdue sales invoices

  • Setting up and managing new suppliers and customers on system

  • Reporting on debtors and creditors

  • Recharging all costs to clients outside of Service Level Agreement

  • Managing daily post in and out

  • Managing petty cash transactions

  • Assisting with the customer service role during colleague holidays and absence

What the client are looking for:

  • Strong administration skills – at least 2+ years’ experience in a highly admin-focused role

  • Keen interest in finance

  • Positive, upbeat and friendly approach in order to fit in with a like-minded and sociable team

  • Strong computer skills/experience

  • Knowledge of Sage Line 50 and MS Excel would be beneficial

  • Understanding of data privacy standards and GDPR

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Excellent organisational, prioritising and multitasking skills

  • Willing to work extended hours during busy periods
