HR Business Partner

We’re currently recruiting for a HR Business Partner to join a fantastic international company, based in their beautiful large offices in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead.

Working in a team of 6, our client are looking for an HR professional with fluent French & English skills, to support the continuing growth and diverse portfolio of their HR operations.

Reporting to, and working closely with the Director of HR, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the people agenda in-line with the business strategy.

The initial key focus of the role is to partner with the relevant team in the UK and their Brussels office, and be responsible for owning and leading all HR processes, including monthly payroll and keeping up to date on all key European legislation requirements - ensuring that the company continues to be legally compliant.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Working closely and managing requirements of the European funding team, overseeing monthly payroll procedures
•    Monitoring GDPR requirements and updates
•    Liaising with the team on any recruitment needs, raising contracts appropriately on behalf of the Brussels office
•    Work with the Corporate Recruitment Manager to deliver effective resourcing solutions
•    Keep abreast of current legislation/trends to develop practical and appropriate policies and procedures
•    Assure systems and process comply with relevant labour laws (primarily UK and EU)
•    Support, deliver and embed agreed change initiatives
•    Support and deliver projects as specified by the Director of HR and client groups as a whole (acting as HR Lead Project Manager where required)
•    Raise awareness of immigration requirements and ensure this is highlighted when considering inter-company working and general visa applications
•    In conjunction with the Director of HR, oversee, coach and support managers with performance management, and provide guidance and oversight on complex employee relations issues
•    Ensure data is processed in a timely and accurate manner to allow for accurate, compliant and audit-ready monthly payroll

Person Specific:
•    At least 5 years’ experience with a proven track record in a relative HR position
•    CIPD qualified or working towards this - essential
•    Fluent in English and French, both oral and written
•    Knowledge of European Employment Law
•    Excellent communication skills, adept at persuading and influencing stakeholders at all levels
•    Experience of leading sometimes complex procedures, providing tactical hands-on HR support and skilled at coaching managers to deliver sound outcomes
•    High attention to detail and accuracy with strong IT skills including Microsoft Office & HR Databases
•    Experience with Belgian employment legislation and payroll – beneficial but not essential
•    Willing and able to travel to Belgium office when required – approx. 6 times per year
•    Excellent professional presence, highly autonomous and self-directed
•    Intelligent, resourceful, diplomatic and tactful
•    Excellent consulting, diagnostic and proactive problem-solving skills

Salary: up to £42,500

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:30am – 5pm; Friday 8:30am – 4pm
