Legal Secretary - Litigation Department

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our successful, well-established client based in St Albans.

The successful candidate will have solid experience working within a Litigation Department, you must be able to 'hit the ground' running, providing support to two partners and one associate.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Excellent audio and copy typing skills
•    Take telephone calls on behalf of fee earners - pass on messages promptly and accurately
•    Keeping records systematically so that the fee earners can obtain documents and information when readily required
•    Answering and dealing with client queries where possible
•    Noting appointments and bringing them to the fee earners' attention
•    Filing documents in correct files
•    Implementing instructions from Fee Earners with regard to performing ad-hoc tasks as requested by Fee Earner
•    To assist, together with other secretarial staff, in dealing with incoming calls when reception is very busy

Essential Skills & Attributes:
•    At least 2-3 years Legal Secretary experience with Litigation department
•    Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
•    Polite, professional telephone manner
•    Flexible approach to work
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Salary: £27,000-£29,000 per annum

Benefits: Pension, health insurance after 1 year, 20 days holiday (increasing after 2 years up to a maximum of 25 days), closed for Christmas and New Year, discretionary bonus after 1 year’s service.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm
